Lowell Food Security Coalition

Access by All People at All Times to Food for an Active, Healthy Life

The Lowell Food Security Coalition (LFSC) formed to increase the community’s engagement in and the capacity of our local food system, and ensure that all constituents have equal access to grow, purchase, and consume healthy and culturally appropriate food in quantities that can sustain a healthy community. The coalition worked to promote:

  • Food Distribution and Access,

  • Food Production and Local Markets, and

  • Sustainability and Planning.

The LFSC was active from 2012 to 2015. In 2015 it merged with the Greater Lowell Health Alliance Healthy Eating and Living Task Force. Click for a list of Lowell Food Security Coalition members

While active, the LFSC completed a Community Food Assessment, Food Production Plan and Food Resource Mapping. Click on the links below to learn more about these activities.
