Public Participation Plan
NMCOG and the NMMPO have developed a Public Participation Plan to establish consistent procedures to ensure that people across our region have reasonable opportunities to be involved in the agency’s regional planning and decision-making processes. This plan outlines our commitment to public engagement, providing examples of the types of tools, strategies, and techniques we use to communicate with the public and empower them to shape the future of our region.

Regional Advocacy
A vital part of NMCOG’s mission is advocating for the region’s interests at the state and federal level. Under its 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, “Lead Regional Collaboration, Advocacy, and Engagement” is a core priority.

Technical Assistance
Since 2009, the NMCOG Technical Assistance Program has enabled and assisted our communities in creating plans, implementing projects, and providing funding for regional plans that benefit member communities.
